Power Application Center opens in Shanghai

July 12, 2006, Shanghai - IBM today announced the opening of its Power Application Center (PAC) at a grand ceremony in Shanghai witnessed by clients, business partners, members of public organizations and the media. The IBM PAC is the world's first dedicated center for collaboration and innovation on the IBM Power Architecture™. Different from other semiconductor application centers, the Power Application Center pools the innovation strengths of IBM and Power.org members to form a collaborative support network for clients and partners.

Genesi has provided Open Desktop Workstations for the Center and will operate in China through the Power Application Center. The Open Desktop Workstation is a versatile development machine that will be deployed in the Center in a number of configurations. Capable of utilizing IBM and Freescale 32-bit Power™ processors, the ODW provides an ideal host/target development environment for SoC's that seek to take advantage of the Genesi HAL/OF. A broad array of operating system and application support and the active developer communities that support the Genesi platforms.

The Power.org Board of Directors is composed of a representative from each of the following companies - IBM, Freescale, Cadence, Synopsys, and Genesi. Genesi is a Founder level member of Power.org.
